The website is very convenient as a reader can find information on various topics there.

Such measures taken by the authorities are absolutely unacceptable. We are witnessing hardening of pressure on the independent media in Belarus.

The authorities got scared as the website raised the issues which were not traditionally discussed on other websites.

There is a law in nature: if one field gets narrower, some other field expands. We should expect the expansion of influence of the Russian media in the Belarusian informational field. Of course, the democratically oriented people continue obtaining information from independent sources, but Russia still has more free space for its actions..

It's necessary to steer up the society and raise the issue of blocking the website Charter97.org at all levels, tell the ordinary people about this. The authorities obviously feel ill at ease.
