The authorities are introducing another round of pension changes. One of them - they cancelled the limits on the size of pensions for those working on a well-deserved rest. But this is not the only innovation, which is provided by a special decree of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. Another one - there will be a special fee for some Belarusians for paying out pensions through the post office, reports ‘Zerkalo’.
Some Belarusians have introduced a fee for receiving pensions through the post office - either in the post office or with home delivery.
The Ministry of Labour previously explained: it's due to changes in paying pensions and child allowances through banks, which began to work on July 1: many Belarusians were deprived of the opportunity to receive this money through the post office. Such an option was left only for some categories of the population: pensions - for people over 70 years old, and allowances - for families raising a disabled child under the age of 18. Both pensions and payments for children through Belposhta can still be received by residents of rural areas and disabled people of group I and II.
What Will Change About Pensions?
Now the authorities have allowed pensioners under 70 years old and some families with children to receive pensions through the post office - in branches or with home delivery. But they have introduced a fee for this service. The exact amount of this fee is not named in the decree of Aliaksandr Lukashenka, but the Ministry of Labour previously predicted that it would be at the level of six to eight rubles per month.
Labour Minister Natallia Paulichenka noted earlier that it's only about certain categories of the population. The changes affect pensioners, who live in Minsk, regional and district centres, as well as those under 70 years old. Also - those who are disabled of group III, as well as those who look after a disabled child up to 18 years old and receive an allowance to care for him.
The changes will come into effect from the beginning of 2025.
