Allegedly, the driver was a drunk man without licence.
Traffic police officers in Mazyr (Homel region) had to use firearms to stop a car, which, as it later turned out, was driven by a drunk person without licence, it follows from the information published by the press service of the Interior Ministry on November 22.
It is reported that a 22-year-old resident of Brest region, driving a VAZ car, ‘changed the trajectory of movement at the sight of the official car and, ignoring the stop signal, increased speed’. The inspectors started to chase the driver.
‘The actions of the offender created a real threat to other road users,’ the report says. ‘The officers used the service weapon to stop the vehicle. The ‘racer’ was detained with an aimed shot at the wheel. <...> Medical examination showed 0.7 ppm of alcohol’.
The agency claims that the man had previously been prosecuted several times for driving without the licence, as well as for driving while in a state of intoxication.
