Young Man Who Fled After Receiving Military Summons Was Tried In Hrodna

Even his family did not know where he was.

A young man who received a summons to the military registration and enlistment office, but did not come for a medical examination and did not show up until the end of the draft, was tried in Hrodna. His relatives said they did not know where he was, Grodno Plus reports.

The away session was held at the law faculty of Kupala University — the guy was tried in the presence of students. They took into account the fact that he had no previous problems with the law.

As reported by the Hrodna prosecutor's office, the court found the conscript guilty of evading conscription for military service. He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of liberty restriction in an open-type correctional facility. The sentence can still be appealed.
