Trump's Ultimatum

Trump's Ultimatum

A turning point in US policy.

I'll write more about Trump's first ultimatum.

It caused a great stir. After all, this is exactly what many expected from him. This is why his supporters around the world pinned their hopes on him.

In his Truth account, Trump addressed Hamas:

“If the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity.”

He added: “Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East - But it’s all talk, and no action!

Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!”

Let me remind you that as of December 2, 2024, Hamas holds 101 people captive. Among them are 97 hostages kidnapped on October 7, 2023, and 4 people held since 2014...

The terrorists also have 37 bodies of the dead.

Trump's words came just a few hours after the death of one of the hostages was confirmed — 20-year-old Omer Neutra, a citizen of the United States and Israel.

The Biden administration has been mediating negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a year, trying to achieve the same fragile ceasefire that was achieved in Lebanon in recent days. But it has brought nothing but disappointment. The State Department explained the failure by Hamas's unwillingness to negotiate and their indifference to civilian casualties in Gaza.

Although it is clear that this was the terrorists' plan: sadistic mass murder in Israel provokes a legitimate military response in Gaza, and the inevitable civilian casualties, which Hamas deliberately uses as cover by not letting women and children into the underground tunnels, lead to protests on the streets of Western cities, a surge in anti-Semitism and powerful pressure on Western leaders.

Trump's decisive rhetoric marks a turning point in US policy. We will soon see where it will lead. Including in Ukraine.
