There's A Way To Release Belarusian Political Prisoners
Natallia Radzina

Then Lukashenka will make concessions.

Natallia Radzina, the Editor-in-Chief of the Charter97.org website, spoke about this in a big interview with Radio Liberty.

The Belarusian journalist believes that sanctions against the Lukashenka regime should be introduced specifically for political prisoners:

"The main pressure that needs to be put on the Lukashenka regime is economic. The dictator is very afraid of economic sanctions. And if they are introduced, there is a possibility that he will start to release political prisoners.

By the way, here I will say one thing: today economic sanctions for political prisoners against the Lukashenka regime have not been introduced. The sanctions that exist were imposed for the landing of the plane, for the migration crisis and for the war in Ukraine, but not for political prisoners. Therefore, there are not even talks with the Lukashenka regime on this topic. If these economic sanctions were introduced, I think that there would be a topic of conversation with Lukashenka about the release of people. This is an important, significant point."
