The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a tactical operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, which turned into a strategic success, showing the weakness of the Russian regime. This was stated by the head of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces, Colonel Ants Kiviselg, ERR reports.
Ukrainian troops carried out high-precision strikes on the command posts of the Russian 76th Airborne Assault Division and the 810th Marine Brigade.
As a result of the attacks, several high-ranking Russian officers were killed and wounded, which seriously weakened the command of the units.
According to Kiviselg, the DPRK units operating in the Kursk direction are suffering significant losses. They often go into battle without preparation and artillery support, which only increases their losses.
“The situation in the Kursk region is also reflected in the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that out of the 12,000 North Korean contingent transferred to the Kursk region, a third, or up to 3,800 people, have already been killed or wounded. At the same time, Russia has not managed to achieve a single military success,” Kiviselg said.
The colonel stresses that the military actions in the Kursk region are a symbol of Russia's inability to control the situation. Against this background, the problem of the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria is also becoming more acute, which is in fact an admission of capitulation in this direction.
“This further increases the pressure on the leadership of the Russian armed forces. The pressure on Putin himself from Russian society is also increasing,” Kiviselg emphasized.
Despite the losses and the advance of Russian troops, Ukraine's defense is holding. According to Kiviselg, each square kilometer of occupied territory costs the aggressor an average of 100 lives.
