These groups move separately.
After the Russians brought the DPRK military into the fighting, the number of their assaults in Kursk region has increased. Ukrainian fighters are already able to distinguish which group is moving towards their positions.
Major Anton Zakharchuk, deputy commander of the aeromobile battalion of the 95th brigade of the AAT, spoke about this on the air of the telethon. According to him, usually groups of North Korean and Russian soldiers operate separately. The AFU fighters have learnt to distinguish them even on the approaches to their positions:
‘When the North Korean military moves and we fire at them - they continue to move. There was a case when an FPV drone hit the first one, and the rest of them continued to move by simply stepping over him. The Russian military on the contrary, if they are hit with fire, they usually retreat.’
According to Zakharchuk, the assaults during which the North Korean military officer was taken prisoner did not involve a squad mixed with Russians. They were exclusively North Korean soldiers, who are usually used by the Russians to conduct foot assaults. In this case, the Russian military acted as entrenchment or reinforcement teams.
‘The enemy suffered casualties from small arms and automatic grenade launchers. After the battle, a detailed reconnaissance was carried out and one enemy was detected near our positions. Accordingly, a decision was made to take him prisoner. The soldier turned out to be from the DPRK and was wounded. He was evacuated from the battlefield and provided with medical assistance,’ he added.
