Belarusian Man Brings $49 K To Bank, Learns A Lot About His Son

A detective story took place in Asipovichy.

A criminal case was opened against a 25-year-old Belarusian who stole 6,700 dollars from his father. The details of the crime were reported by the State Committee for Forensic Expertise.

In Asipovichy, a local resident brought a large sum of money to the bank to deposit it into an account. He handed the cashier 500 banknotes worth more than 49 thousand dollars. During the check, the cashier found signs of counterfeiting in 67 bills with a denomination of 100 dollars and called the police.

The bank client explained that he had previously kept his savings in a foreign currency account, then withdrew and kept them at home, and a few months later brought the same money to the bank again. The suspicious banknotes were sent for examination.

It turned out that these dollars were counterfeit — they were printed on a printer. Investigators have established that the 25-year-old son of the Asipovichy resident was involved in the currency story — he stole 6,700 dollars from his father, and in order to hide the loss, he put souvenir money instead of the stolen genuine bills.

The Asipovichy District Department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the young man under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (Theft committed on a large scale).
