Scholz: Nothing About Ukraine Without Ukraine

Zelensky has discussed the strengthening of Ukrainian air defence with the Chancellor of Germany.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This was reported by the Office of the President on 21 January.

During the conversation, the parties discussed further support for Ukraine and coordination with international partners to achieve a just peace.

Also, the head of state thanked for the assistance to Ukraine in fighting Russian aggression.

‘Germany is the second in terms of support provided to our state. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the FRG has transferred assistance for more than €37 billion,' stated the message.

Separately, the President mentioned the country's leadership in strengthening Ukrainian air defence. He noted that Germany has made a significant contribution to rescuing Ukrainians and helped to save thousands of lives.

‘During the meeting, special attention was paid to the continued support for Ukraine, in particular the further providing of air defence equipment, and coordinating steps with all allies. This will help to strengthen Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline, strengthen Ukraine's position and bring a just and lasting peace closer,’ Zelensky added.

Scholz wrote on the X social network, ‘Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine’.
