Lukashenka's farce looked hopeless.
Readers of ‘Nasha Niva’ confirm the information about the catastrophic turnout at the ‘elections’ in Belarus.
Reader Kiryl came to his polling station in the capital at ten in the morning. He also noted the atmosphere of total hopelessness.
- There were no people at all, I was the second on my list to vote. Out of curiosity I looked at what was in the buffet. Some drinks and some skinny salads. Food of the level of a not very good canteen.
Halina notes that in her case everything was fine in the cafeteria of Minsk school, but there were no people. She came to vote around ten o'clock - and did not notice any more people willing to participate in the political life of the country. When she left, three more people appeared at the polling station.
Palina shared that at her school there were much more people in the cafeteria than at the polling station. People mostly ordered vodka and meat snacks. ‘Festive’ gingerbread with the date of the election was sold next to the traditional cupcakes and cakes.
Aleh went to the elections in the district centre:
- Apart from me, there were three other people at the polling station.
Dzmitry voted in a rather small settlement:
- I voted on Sunday morning. I was the only voter at that time.
Charter97.org readers write that polling stations were empty all over the country.
