New footage of the strike on the Avangard plant near Smolensk.
On the night of January 4, the Smolensk region of Russia was restless due to a raid by attack drones. The Avangard plant, which is involved in the production of missiles for the Russian Armed Forces, was presumably hit, writes Dialog.UA.
The city of Safonovo in the Smolensk region, approximately 300 kilometers from the northern borders of Ukraine, was hit.
The Avangard plant is located there, involved in the production of solid-fuel missiles: both ballistics and for air defense systems. Avangard is part of one of Russia's largest missile-making holdings, NPO Mashinostroyenia. It is directly involved in the aggression against Ukraine. The plant produces transport and launch containers, as well as engine housings for solid-fuel missiles, armor elements and anti-radiation protection for armored vehicles, etc.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported in the morning that 16 Ukrainian UAVs had allegedly been shot down, 10 of which were in the Bryansk region, 3 in the Smolensk region, and the rest in the Belgorod, Pskov, and Leningrad regions. The governor of the Leningrad region, for his part, claims that 4 drones were shot down on his territory.
Preliminary, the Avangard plant was damaged by the strike, but this information requires confirmation.
