Trump's spokeswoman said the ball is on China's side.
US President Donald Trump wants China to approach him to conclude a trade agreement, Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said at a media briefing.
‘The ball is on China's side. China needs to make an agreement with us. It's not up to us to make an agreement with them,’ Leavitt quoted the president as saying.
The statement said the U.S. makes no difference between China and any other country and expects that China should be the one to step up.
‘For us, there is no difference between China and any other country except that they are much bigger. And China wants what we have. Just like any other country, after all - everybody wants access to the American consumer. In other words - they want our money,’ the statement said.
