Crimea is the territory of the people of Ukraine.
Kyiv will not recognise the jurisdiction of Russia over the Crimea. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a briefing before the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the American and European in London.
‘This is our territory, the territory of the people of Ukraine. There is nothing to talk about here - it is beyond our Constitution,’ Zelensky said.
According to Zelensky, discussing the status of Crimea and other Russian-occupied territories only leads to prolonging the war.
Earlier, The Washington Post's sources said that at the talks in London on 23 April, the Ukrainian delegation would receive a proposal from the USA to recognise annexed Crimea as Russian and freeze the front line. This was also reported earlier last week by Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal.
Zelensky also noted that only Ukraine can be the operator of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is now under the control of the Russian army. This is how Zelensky commented on media publications about the United States' proposal to take the nuclear plant under its control.
