Trump Makes New Statement About Putin's Intentions In War With Ukraine

Recently, the American leader has suggested the opposite.

US President Donald Trump still believes Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is allegedly seeking to end the war with Ukraine. Recently, the American leader suggested the opposite amid increased Russian shelling.

This is reported by ABC News.

The American president demonstrated a change of opinion while speaking to interviewer Terry Moran on Tuesday.

Asked if he thinks Putin wants peace, Trump said: ‘I think he does.’

The US president also spoke out about downplaying the Russian dictator's invasive appetites. Trump credited this to his own merits, not to Putin's army inability to occupy the entire territory of Ukraine.

‘If it weren't for me, I think he (Putin, - ed.) would want to take over the whole country,’ the American leader said.

Trump again indirectly placed the blame for Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine on his predecessor as president. And added that ‘I believe that because of me he (Putin, - ed.) is ready to stop fighting.’

At the same time, Trump again criticised the increased shelling of peaceful Ukrainian cities by Russian Federation.

‘I'll tell you, I wasn't happy when I saw Putin launching missiles at several cities,’ the US president said.
