The Prime Minister of the country has disclosed the details.
Estonia is ready to provide Ukraine with a combat unit and officers to deter Russia. Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced about participation in the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ together with Britain and France.
This is reported by the website of the Estonian government.
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said that the country is ready to make a real contribution to the deterrent forces of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’, which is being formed by Britain and France to guarantee the security of Ukraine.
He said Estonia was considering providing a company-sized ground combat unit, training instructors and staff officers.
‘Before sending the unit, we will of course ask for a mandate from the Riigikogu,’ Michal noted.
He stressed that the best guarantee of Ukraine's security remains NATO membership, but it is important to ensure practical defence mechanisms before implementing it.
‘An independent, sovereign Ukraine, part of the European family, is the best strategic guarantee against Moscow's imperialism for all of us. We must show that we can do good deeds together with good thoughts,’ the Estonian prime minister added.
