First Parties Trump Will Discuss Tariffs With Revealed

It will probably happen even next week.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to visit the White House on April 7. He intends to discuss new customs tariffs with US President Donald Trump.

This is reported by Axios.

The publication, citing four informed sources, noted that Netanyahu intends to visit the White House on Monday, April 7. If the visit takes place, the Israeli Prime Minister will become the first foreign leader to personally meet with President Trump to try to agree on the abolition of tariffs.

It is also expected that the leaders will discuss the Iranian nuclear crisis and the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has been trying to avoid the tariffs that Trump has imposed on nearly every country in the world by announcing a precautionary waiver of all tariffs on American products. Trump’s 17% rate on Israel was based on the US’s large bilateral trade deficit.

Trump called Netanyahu and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on April 3 while Netanyahu was visiting Budapest. The call was prompted by Hungary’s decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court, but Netanyahu also raised the issue of tariffs.

Trump invited Netanyahu to come to the White House, without specifying a date. Hours later, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Netanyahu would be visiting Washington soon, “maybe even next week.”

Both sides had originally expected the visit to take place later in April, likely during Passover, which begins April 14.
