This weapon has effectively proved itself in the war against the Russian Federation.
Estonia now has its own HIMARS missile systems. Six Lockheed Martin systems were handed over to the country's Armed Forces.
Commenting on this event, the commander of the Estonian Defense Forces division, Major General Indrek Sirel said that the Estonian military can now hit a target that was previously at an unattainable distance.
"So, for the division as the main tactical unit of the Estonian army, we can fulfill our plan, given that we can affect targets farther away than before, while at the same time being outside the opponent's kill zone," ERR his words.

The head of Lockheed Martin's Tim Cahill missile and fire control division spoke at the MLRS handover ceremony. He said that the US company has doubled the production volume of HIMARS. Now 96 units of these complexes are produced annually.
