Julia Davis, Who Previously Worked In Belarus, Has Been Appointed As The New US Ambassador To Ukraine

In our country, she served as the first U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy for Belarus.

Julia Davis has been appointed Charge d'Affaires of the United States to Ukraine, U.S. State Department Speaker Tammy Bruce announced during a briefing on Thursday.

It is known that Davis is now acting U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus.

Before her appointment as ambassador to Cyprus, Julia Davis served as special envoy for Belarus in Vilnius, Lithuania.

In 2020, she was confirmed as the first U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Belarus since 2008. Davis previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western European and European Union Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and as Deputy Permanent Representative of the U.S. Mission to NATO.
