Russian Military Airfields And Bases Hit In Crimea

The first results of the massive attack have become known.

On the morning of May 16, explosions erupted in temporarily occupied Crimea.

It is reported that after the explosions, a fire broke out at the Russian occupiers' BC warehouse, and the Belbek and Kacha military airfields were also under attack. This was reported by Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" with reference to eyewitness accounts, and in the military movement of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars "Atesh" claimed to have hit the location of two Russian military units at once and killed occupiers.

"Atesh agents have recorded incoming attacks on Russian military facilities in Crimea. Our agents have recorded explosions near the Perevalnoye settlement, including the military base of the 126th Independent Guards Coastal Defense Brigade and the 8th Independent Art Regiment. There are reports of dead military personnel who were on duty at the depot. Coordinates: 44.8495839325, 34.3209801283. "It is important to note that agents of our movement previously passed information about these targets to the Defense Forces," Atesh said.

In Perevalnoye, Crimean residents write, after the attack, a fire started at the ammunition depot of the 126 obrbo of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

"Due to the fire at the ammunition depot in Perevalnoye, the Simferopol-Alushta road is blocked. Drivers are asked to take a detour, subscribers reported," the Crimean Wind noted.

The public also reported that a large number of ambulances rushed towards Perevalnoye from Simferopol along the Yalta highway. At the same time, locals note that from Alushta they would go closer.

The first two powerful explosions on the peninsula subscribers began to report after 3 a.m.

At 5.25 a loud explosion was heard in the area of Yalta. Local residents in social networks reported that the explosion was so strong that the windows shook. After the first explosion, another one was heard.

At around 6 a.m., the explosions were confirmed by the gauleiter of occupied Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev.

The explosions were also heard in the Alupka area: local residents claimed that at least three explosions were heard from the sea side - at 5.40, 5.45, 5.52.

"Two dark smoky clouds can be seen in the sky. Presumably, two UAVs were shot down," Krymsky Vet wrote.

At around 06.15 there was a very strong explosion in Sevastopol, Crimeans said.

They also gave Krymsky Vet a photo with a trace of a missile launched from a Pantsir-S1 man-portable air defense system from the Nakhimov Naval School in Sevastopol. The same system was used by the Russian air defense system in the Yalta Ring area.

Later by 7 a.m., a video of explosions and smoke rising above the location of the 126th separate coast guard brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Perevalnoye appeared online.

Russian Z-publics, meanwhile, stubbornly rejected reality - and while explosions and fires raged on the territory of the military unit, talked about "the threat of UAVs."

As of 7 a.m., Crimeans were reporting "continued bangs" in Sevastopol: explosions, people said, were heard near the Belbek and Kacha airfields.

"They are under attack again," "Crimean Wind" quoted the words of subscribers, recalling that the last time "bavovna" on Kacha came on May 2.

Also from 07:00 to 07:08 at least three explosions were heard in the village of Kashtanovoye in Simferopol district. The Bakhchisarai area was also noisy from 6 to 7 a.m., with locals there reporting "intermittent explosions".

By 07:30, two powerful explosions were reported in the Balaklava area.
