Macron: Trump Plans To Find Out From Kremlin What Happened At Istanbul Talks

U.S. talks with Moscow are possible in the next few hours or days.

US President Donald Trump is going to have an exchange of views with the Russian side after the talks between representatives of Kiev and Moscow in Istanbul on May 16. The American leader intends to clarify the situation.

French President Emmanuel Macron said this at a briefing in Tirana, BFMTV reports.

The French leader said his American counterpart is going to hold such talks with Moscow "in the next few hours or days."

Macron made this statement in the Albanian capital, where a summit of the European Political Community is taking place.

The French president said the purpose of such an exchange was for Trump to "want to be able to clarify what happened and try to move forward."

Macron again voiced support for an "unconditional 30-day ceasefire" in the theater of the Russian-Ukrainian war, something Kiev agrees to but Moscow has not agreed to.

The French president also reiterated his regret that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "refused a high-level bilateral meeting despite the positive response of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky."
