Lithuanian Border Guards Intercepted A "super Drone" With 3 Thousand Packs Of Cigarettes From Belarus

Employees of the Tribonis outpost of the Vareni Border Guard Unit intercepted a "super drone" with a cargo of smuggled cigarettes from Belarus in Shalcininka district of Lithuania on the evening of May 15, "Pozirk" reported "Pozirk" with reference to the State Border Guard Service (SOGG) of this Baltic state.

The drone was spotted near the village of Sakaline (adjacent to the Voronovsky district of Grodno region), it was moving deep into Lithuania from the direction of the Belarusian border. Border guards intercepted the drone's control and landed it.

SOGG notes that usually smugglers' drones "due to their limited carrying capacity carry from 200 to 400 packs of cigarettes - less than in a standard factory package (50 blocks, or 500 packs).

- The "superdrone" intercepted by the border guards of Tribonis, delivering 3,000 packs at once, was a rare exception. According to SOGG officers, the intercepted apparatus with doubled propellers is a specialized agricultural equipment, - notes the agency.

- A pre-trial investigation into the fact of illegal trafficking of excisable goods has been launched. It is noted that for such a crime provides for a fine or imprisonment for up to 4 years.
