Belarusian Traffic Police Has Prepared A 7-day "surprise" For Some Drivers

They will be given "special attention".

State Automobile Inspectorate of Belarus announced a national "preventive action" called "Motorcycling - without violations!" to be held from May 18 to 24. According to the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Interior Ministry, the purpose of the event is to "prevent accidents involving motorcycles," the number of which, according to the agency, has increased markedly with the beginning of the motorcycle season. The inspectors promised "overt and covert control," involvement of motorcycle patrols and special attention to "artisanal" motorcycles, writes "Telegraf".

According to the statistics of the press service of the Interior Ministry of Belarus, 50 accidents "committed by the fault of bike drivers" have already been recorded this year, in which 8 people died and 52 were injured. "With the beginning of the motorcycle season, there has been a surge of such accidents," stated in the department.

In the framework of the action, traffic police officers "will conduct a workout of settlements and highways, aimed at preventing and combating violations of traffic rules by this category of drivers.

"Special attention", as emphasized in the State Automobile Inspectorate, will be paid to "the timely detection and seizure of structurally altered, unregistered and without title documents, or assembled artisanal motorcycles at the time of inspection."

Besides raids and control on the roads, the traffic police also promised to "organize preventive work with members of biker communities and individual owners of two-wheeled vehicles". According to them, the inspectors will "explain safety measures, the procedure for obtaining a driver's license and registering motor vehicles, administrative and criminal liability for violating traffic rules".
