Poland Confiscates Boeing Tires Shipped From Spain To Azerbaijan In Transit Through Belarus

Polish customs seized 5 tons of tires for Boeing civilian aircraft that were to be transited through Belarus and Russia, the country's National Tax Administration said on Monday, adding that such goods fall under European Union sanctions.

"Officers... discovered during an inspection of a truck in Koroshchina that the driver was carrying tires used in Boeing civilian aircraft instead of declared car and bus tires," The Moscow Times quoted the National Tax Administration as saying.

The shipper of the goods was a company from Spain and the recipient was from Azerbaijan. A criminal case has been opened over customs fraud, and the sanctioned goods have been detained.
