EU Decides To Lift Economic Sanctions On Syria

The decision has already been made.

The European Union has decided to lift economic sanctions on Syria. This was announced by EU diplomatic chief Kaia Kallas on Tuesday, May 20, on social media X.

"Today we have decided to lift our economic sanctions on Syria. We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, inclusive and peaceful Syria," Callas said.

She added that the EU has supported Syrians for the past 14 years and will continue to do so.
