China Is Getting Excited About The U.S. Gold Dome

Beijing is urging Trump to drop the idea.

China is "seriously concerned" about the US Golden Dome missile defense shield project.

China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said this during a briefing, Reuters reported.

She noted that the Golden Dome raises the risks of space militarization and an arms race.

"The United States, with its 'US first' policy, is obsessed with the pursuit of absolute security for itself. This violates the principle that the security of all countries should not be jeopardized and undermines global strategic balance and stability. China is seriously concerned about this," the spokeswoman said.

Mao Ning also urged Washington to abandon the development of the system as soon as possible and take measures to build trust between the great powers.
