It has become known when this might happen.
Israel is preparing for a quick strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. This will happen if the U.S.-Iran nuclear talks fail.
This is reported by Axios.
The publication's sources note that in the past few days alone, Israeli intelligence has changed its opinion from the belief that a nuclear deal is close to being agreed upon to the view that the talks are about to collapse.
According to an Axios source, Israel's military believes that its operational window for a successful strike may soon close, so the IDF will have to act quickly if negotiations fail. It remains unknown, however, why Israel considers a later strike less effective.
"Bibi (as Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is called - ed.) is waiting for the nuclear talks to fail and for Trump to be frustrated with the negotiations and ready to give him the green light," the Israeli source added.
The US official told Axios that the Trump administration is concerned that Netanyahu may make his move even without a green light from Trump.
It is worth adding that the fifth round of talks between the US and Iran over the nuclear program is scheduled for Friday, May 23, in Rome.
