Direct funding will make aid more efficient and faster.
Ukraine has offered Europe a new format of support for the Armed Forces. Direct financing will make the assistance more effective and faster.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Ukraine's Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
The Ukrainian Finance Minister said that the G7 financial bloc meetings in Canada included rich talks with the finance ministers of several partner countries, IMF leadership, as well as discussion of Ukraine's recovery and investment potential with Canadian businesses.
He stressed that the G7 session was held with clear signals of continued support for Ukraine.
"The key topic that was raised with partners was ways to ensure Ukraine's financial needs for 2026," Marchenko said.
According to the Minister, a dialogue is ongoing on the possibility of integrating Ukrainian military potential into the defense system of Europe.
"I am sure that such a decision has a number of strategic advantages for Ukraine, in particular, maintaining financial stability in 2026 and beyond, and for the EU - ensuring security and safety of the Ukrainian military. After all, the Ukrainian army has all the necessary experience for this," he explained.
Marchenko explained that Ukraine offers:
participation of partners in the financing of the Ukrainian armed forces,
integration of the Ukrainian army into the defense system of Europe.
"The costs of providing the Ukrainian armed forces for the security of Europe will be a small share of the EU GDP. It can be distributed among the countries that are ready to join the initiative and included in the calculation of defense spending in accordance with the obligations of these countries to NATO," the minister said.
According to Marchenko, given the military risks, Europe is already looking for ways to strengthen defense, in particular through increasing the number of military personnel.
"But the development of such a capability will require years and significant resources. Integration of the Ukrainian armed forces is a viable solution with economic advantages for partner countries," he stressed.
The Minister said that he emphasized that supporting Ukraine is an investment in the stability of Europe, and strengthening defense capabilities is not a political choice, but an urgent need.
"We need to act today in order to be strong in the future. We continue systematic work with partners to ensure a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine," Marchenko concluded.
Note that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the funds provided by the EUC have been aimed at supporting the Ukrainian budget, namely covering social payments and budget payments and could not be used for the needs of the Defense Forces.
In the meantime, all the funds that Ukraine earned were directed to the army.
We shall remind you that yesterday Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that the EU was launching a mechanism to develop a joint defense industry.
