The Russian Federation reported more than 750 UAVs.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have organized the most protracted and massive drone attack on Russian regions since Putin rejected the ceasefire. Beginning on the evening of May 20, the Ukrainian drone attack continued almost continuously until the morning of May 23, writes The Moscow Times.
According to official reports from the Russian Defense Ministry, a total of 756 aircraft-type drones were shot down by on-duty air defense (AD) assets during that time. In particular, 485 drones were destroyed from 8 p.m. Moscow time on May 20 to 8 a.m. on May 22, 159 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 22, and another 112 after that time until 7 a.m. on May 23.
Fifteen Russian regions and occupied Crimea came under attack. The most drones were shot down over the Orel (197), Kursk (185) and Moscow (109) regions. During the attacks, airports in Vladimir, Kaluga, Kostroma, Tambov, Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, as well as Moscow's Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky temporarily stopped receiving and releasing airplanes. Hundreds of flights were delayed, and many passengers had to wait almost 24 hours for departure. Also in six regions the work of mobile Internet was limited. This measure was taken in Tula, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Vladimir, Orel and Ivanovo regions. The local authorities asked residents to "treat this with understanding".
In the course of the massive raid, Ukrainian drones hit at least two enterprises important for the military-industrial complex: the Bolkhov Semiconductor Devices Plant in the Orel region, which produces microelectronics for the army, and the Energia plant in the Lipetsk region, which specializes in producing batteries for drones, missiles and aircraft.
