EU Discusses Arms Deal For Ukraine With Trump

Brussels is ready to buy American weapons for the AFU.

European countries are considering the possibility of purchasing American weapons for further transfer to Ukraine, as the EU's own arsenals are exhausted. This is reported by Bloomberg citing sources in Brussels.

This option is being discussed due to concerns that incumbent US President Donald Trump may refuse to continue military support for Kiev. According to the agency, already approved aid packages allocated by his predecessor Joe Biden could run out by the summer. Bloomberg also emphasizes that such a move by Europe would put Trump in a dilemma: either ensure that the US receives large revenues from military contracts, or refuse to supply them so as not to "provoke" Russia.

The agency's interlocutors added that they expect intelligence sharing between the US and Ukraine to continue. In this case, they believe that Kiev will be able to hold its position if the arms deliveries continue.
