The decision was taken at the request of the head of the European Commission.
United States President Donald Trump has agreed to extend trade talks with the European Union until early July.
This was reported by Reuters.
The White House chief said the decision was made at the request of European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, who requested more time to reach a "good agreement."
"We will meet promptly to see if we can reach an agreement," Trump quoted the European Commission chief as saying.
On Sunday, von der Leyen said on social media X that the EU was ready to move quickly in the negotiation process with the United States, but emphasized the need for more time to agree on the terms of a future agreement.
