Lithuania Demands €200 Million From Lukashenko's Regime

As compensation for the attacks by illegals.

Lithuania, which has filed a lawsuit against Belarus at the UN International Court of Justice, is demanding more than 200 million euros in compensation for damage from the migration crisis, the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice told the BNS news agency.

"The lawsuit of the Republic of Lithuania states that the state will demand compensation for damages, and <...> initial estimates of damages amount to more than 200 million euros allocated for overcoming the crisis in the internal affairs system alone. The calculations will be clarified," the country's Justice Ministry said.

In the lawsuit, Lithuania claims that such damage from 2021 to 2023 was caused by having to invest in the construction of a physical fence, strengthening border control systems and deploying more personnel at the border "than ever before" because of Belarus' actions.

Together, Lithuanian border guards have prevented 23,600 cases of illegal entry into the country since the migration crisis began.
