The US president declared Putin's "madness".
US President Donald Trump's remarks that Vladimir Putin has "completely lost his mind" and is unnecessarily launching massive strikes on Ukraine are related to the White House chief's "emotional overload," Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said.
According to him, such "emotional reactions" from Trump arose due to the negotiation process between Moscow and Kiev that has begun.
"We are closely monitoring all reactions, at the same time President Putin is taking those decisions that are necessary to ensure the security of our country," Peskov told TASS.
Earlier, Trump said he was unhappy with Putin and criticized him for strikes on Ukrainian cities. "He's killing a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him for a long time, always got along with him, but he's sending missiles into cities and killing people and I don't like it at all," the White House chief told reporters. He also added that against this background he was "certainly" considering tougher sanctions against Russia.
