Friedrich Merz: Long-range Strikes On Russian Federation Are Now Authorized

The UK, France, Germany and the US have lifted restrictions.

Ukraine can now launch long-range strikes against military infrastructure on Russian territory. This was announced by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a discussion at a forum organized by the WDR broadcaster.

He said that Britain, Germany, France and the United States no longer restrict the range of guns supplied to Ukraine.

"There are no longer any restrictions whatsoever on the range of the guns that have been supplied to Ukraine - not from the British side, not from the French side, not from our side. There are also none on the American side," Merz said, adding that Ukraine can now "defend itself by, for example, attacking military facilities in Russia."

Before that, Bloomberg reported that European countries were discussing the possibility of buying U.S. weapons to hand over to Ukraine amid depleting their own stockpiles.
