Military equipment stockpiles are running out.

Satellite images have revealed that the Omsk Auto Armored Tank Institute's warehouse is almost out of military equipment, noted Ukrainian resource Militarnyi.

In 2021, about 120 tanks, 89 APCs, 41 BMPs and 54 Rapira guns were stored at this site, but images from April 2025 show that all of this equipment has already been removed. Only a few dozen trucks and engineering vehicles remain.

This institute is the only higher educational institution in Russia that trains specialists in the field of repair and maintenance of armored vehicles. The fact that equipment has begun to be taken even from the warehouses of educational institutions indicates serious problems with the Russian army's stockpiles.

Analytics have documented that the rate at which tanks are repaired and returned to service between 2022 and 2025 has dropped significantly. While thousands of tanks used to be refurbished annually, only 342 were refurbished in the last year. All this indicates that Russians are finding it difficult to find equipment in good condition for repair, and factories are working more slowly.

At the beginning of 2025, only about 3,500 tanks remained at the main bases, while the number of tanks in repair at factories began to decrease.
