The head of the White House called the Russian dictator "insane."
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called "strong and adequate" US President Donald Trump's statement that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has lost his mind. This is reported by Delfi.
"It's a strong statement, it's a perfectly adequate statement, because it was clear to us long before that. Well, the president has come to this conclusion, and it appears that Putin has recently provided a lot of reasons for this," Nauseda said.
He noted that aggressor country Russia is targeting Ukraine's military infrastructure and civilian population in an attempt to do as much harm to the country as possible
"In this way, Putin is turning the whole world against himself and certainly deserves much tougher sanctions than those currently being applied to him," the Lithuanian president said.
Despite Trump's statements, however, Nauseda clarified that he cannot guarantee more drastic measures to pressure Russia from the U.S. president.
"I can't guarantee it because I can't evaluate President Trump's plans. It's just that in some cases he reacts sharply, in other cases we can sometimes shrug our shoulders and wonder why suddenly such a positive tone," he explained.
