A batch of Su-30SM2 multirole aircraft has arrived at one of the airfields of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus, reported the Defense Ministry.
The delivery was made within the framework of the plan of construction and development of the Armed Forces of Belarus, as well as military-technical cooperation with Russia.
"We are consistently modernizing and upgrading the fleet of weapons, military and special equipment. Today, we have received the latest Su-30SM2 super-maneuverable fighters," said Major-General Andrei Lukyanovich, commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces.
According to him, there are many innovations in this aircraft. In particular, the combat capabilities have been expanded: the aircraft is effective against air, land and sea targets.
As early as next week, these fighters will be able to start performing their main task - air defense combat duty.
In addition, the flight crew will begin scheduled training on the new machines.
