Dangerous Maneuvers: NATO And Russian Ships Chased Each Other In The Baltic Sea

Warships from Denmark, Germany and the Russian Federation took part in the "pursuit race".

Russian and NATO warships staged dangerous maneuvers between them, trying to chase each other. The incident began in the North Atlantic and ended in the waters of the Baltic Sea.

Warships from Denmark, Germany and the Russian Federation took part in the "pursuit race", the resource Bild reports.

The source writes that NATO ships were conducting exercises, among which were a frigate and a German submarine "Bavaria" and U33.

Russian destroyers Severomorsk and Vice Admiral Kulakov decided to perform an anti-submarine maneuver, moving out of Kolafjord.

Vice Admiral Kulakov decided to link up with the Bavaria, chasing the German ship along the Norwegian coast.

The crew of the Bavaria was aware of what was happening. The Danish frigate Iver Huitfeld, a Danish frigate, came to the aid of a friend from Skagen and chased the Russian ship to the Great Belt Strait.

The German government condemned such maneuvers by ships from the Russian Federation.

German Federal Government Coordinator Christoph Ploss said that Berlin should pay due attention to protecting its ports from growing threats from the Russian Federation. More investment should also be made in cyber security and all bridges should be retrofitted with tanks.

It is known that the Russian ship Vice Admiral Kulakov is armed with torpedoes and missiles. It was launched in 1981. Since 2010 it has been in the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.
