The US And Germany Have Threatened Putin With New Sanctions

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin should be prepared for "action to be taken" by the United States and Europe if he does not agree to sit down at the negotiating table. Such a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio was reported by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful after their meeting, writes Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

The publication reported that the German foreign minister made his first visit to the United States, where he met with Secretary Rubio. This trip by Wadeful was also aimed at preparing the visit of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to Washington.

Among other things, the topic of talks between Wadeful and Rubio was the end of the war in Ukraine. The German minister said that "there is agreement on an immediate ceasefire" and Ukraine is ready for it, but Russia is not.

"That is why we agreed today that we will closely coordinate the next steps so that Putin can finally come to the negotiating table," Wadeful reportedly said.

He quoted Rubio as saying in a conversation with him that "measures will be taken if Putin continues to refuse" and the Russian ruler "must be ready for that."
