"The Voices Of Trump's Critics Are Getting Louder."
Oleg Belokolos

Increasingly, the president of the United States is displeased with his fellow party members.

A court in the U.S. has ruled Trump's tariffs on imports unconstitutional. A three-judge panel ruled that the president exceeded his authority. How will such a ruling affect Trump? Charter97.org spoke to Oleh Bilokolos, director of the Center for National Resilience Studies in Kiev and ex-advisor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Canada and Kenya, about this:

- According to information that is published in the media, such a decision was made by a legal body at the federal level, but not by the Federal Court. It is a U.S. Commercial Court with federal status, but it cannot be called a federal court. There is a definite difference in these terms. That's the first thing to note.

The second thing is that the Trump administration still has time to appeal this decision. What, in fact, is the crux of the dispute? This U.S. trade court said that invoking the 1977 Emergency Powers Act does not give Trump the right to impose the kind of tariffs that he has imposed. Because that law talks about embargoes and sanctions, and doesn't mention tariffs at all.

But Trump's lawyers, the Justice Department, argue that this is within his authority: the president, in directing the nation's foreign affairs, has such powers under the Constitution. A point has not yet been finalized.

The only thing experts and lawyers say is that this significantly affects the position of the Trump administration, which is now negotiating with other countries over tariffs. It's a negative, but the point is far from being made. My personal opinion: those countries that want to continue trade relations with the United States - after all, we are talking about the largest and richest market in the world - will be forced to negotiate with the Trump administration on mutually acceptable tariffs.

How the situation with the European Union will develop - it is still unclear, disputes continue. They were supposed to introduce 50 percent tariffs on European imports, but so far they have postponed them until July. That is, the negotiations continue.

- It is noteworthy that the US President's team is being left by Ilon Musk. Will the balance of power in Trump's entourage change?"

- I have seen this information, but here it is still worth waiting for now when it actually happens. Musk is saying goodbye, but he hasn't formally left yet. Will leave, but hasn't left at this point. Honestly, I don't see a subject for comment here yet. Let's wait until it happens, then we can comment.

Now we can only note that there are certain disagreements about laws, budget expenditures and general vision. But this is normal - each person has his own vision, his own opinion.

- More and more often, Republicans criticize the U.S. president for not putting enough pressure on Russia. Could the forces that are commonly referred to as "Reagan-esque" prevail in the Republican Party?

- Here again, it is worth paying attention to the number of representatives of the Republican Party who express doubts about the correctness of the tactics chosen by Trump with regard to Russia. These voices are getting louder and more frequent.

Will they be able to influence the position of the US President's administration? On the one hand, they can, but on the other hand, they cannot. Why can they? Because the President of the United States cannot not listen to the voice of the public - that's the way the system works. It directly affects his personal rating and the rating of his party. Especially if the criticism comes from Republicans, you have to listen to it.

Will Trump change his tactics in the near future? It's hard to say at this point. He seems to be holding out to the last, not slamming the door, not withdrawing from the negotiation process. Perhaps he wants to keep his laurels as some kind of peacemaker. We'll see, I personally have big doubts about this.
