The preliminary cause is engine trouble.
A light-engine airplane crashed into a residential building in western Germany on Saturday, May 31. Two people were killed, German Wave reported.
The tragedy occurred shortly after noon in the town of Korschenbroch, west of Düsseldorf. According to law enforcement officials, one of the dead was the pilot who was flying the plane. Judging by the published footage, the aircraft crashed into a private residence and started a fire.

According to the Bild newspaper, shortly before the crash, the pilot warned air traffic controllers of engine trouble and requested an emergency landing at the nearest airfield.

Second crash in three months
The Rheinische Post newspaper says a similar tragedy occurred in March in the same North Rhine-Westphalia state. A light-engine airplane crashed into the garden of a residential building in the town of Plettenberg.
