The Israeli Army Officially Announced The Elimination Of The Head Of Hamas' Military Wing

Several other high-ranking members of the group were eliminated along with him.

On the evening of May 31, the IDF Spokesperson's Office officially confirmed: terrorist Muhammed Sinuar, the head of Hamas' military wing, was eliminated in an airstrike in the Khan Younis area on May 13, "Details".

The same strike also eliminated Muhammed Sabaneh, a Hamas brigade commander in Rafiah, and Mahdi Quara, a Hamas battalion commander in southern Khan Younis.

The terrorists were eliminated while they were in an underground command and control center beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis, thereby deliberately endangering civilians in and around the building.

The strike was carried out by the Israeli Southern Command and Air Force, following instructions from IDF and Shabak intelligence. The attack was accompanied by a "complex real-time decision-making process" - by Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir and Shabak head Ronen Bar.

In preparation for the strike, extensive measures were taken to ensure a pinpoint strike with the least possible damage to civilians. The hospital's operations were not affected by the strike, the IDF Spokesperson's Office said.

Mohammed Sinuar was one of the most senior and experienced commanders of Hamas' military wing and played a key role in the planning and execution of the Oct. 7 massacre, serving as the group's chief of operations at the time.

After Mohammed Deif was eliminated, Yahya Sinuar appointed Mohammed, his brother, to head Hamas' military wing.

Mohammed Sinuar became a central figure in shaping the organization's strategy and policy. He previously served as commander of the Hamas brigade in Khan Younis and head of the military wing's operational headquarters. In 2006, he was involved in planning the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Mohammed Sabaneh, eliminated in the same strike, was one of the organizers and perpetrators of the October 7 massacre and oversaw the holding of many hostages in southern Gaza. During the war, he also directed numerous terrorist attacks against IDF soldiers in southern Gaza and organized massive rocket attacks from Rafah into Israel.
