There was increased cooperation between the two dictatorships.
According to the telegram channel of the State Military Industrial Committee, "a foreign customer of one of the Caribbean countries" has successfully conducted combat launches of the S-125-2BM Pechora-2BM SAM system, modernized by the Belarusian enterprise Alevkurp.
It is noted that all four anti-aircraft guided missiles hit training targets.
Cuban publication Cibercuba, citing this report, confirms that the "foreign customer" is in that country. According to its information, Cuba has 144 C-125 launchers, which have been used by the local armed forces (FAR) for decades.
They are considered obsolete by modern standards, but modernization allows for comprehensive electronic upgrades, improved guidance, new target tracking capabilities and extended missile life.
