Earlier, the Chechen leader said that he had asked for his resignation and expressed hope that he would be supported in this.
The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has said that only Russian ruler Vladimir Putin can decide on his resignation. This is how he commented on his words about requesting that he be relieved of his current position.
"Many people have not understood the meaning of my words about resignation. I do not decide whether I will remain in the position of the head of the Chechen Republic or not. Yes, I can ask or suggest. But no matter how much I say, no matter how much I ask, only one person makes such a decision - our supreme commander-in-chief, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Kadyrov called himself a "foot soldier" and a "command man." "There is an order - I fulfill it," he concluded.
He told reporters earlier that he had asked for his resignation and expressed hope that he would be supported in this. "The other will have his own initiatives, his own vision," the Chechen head added.
Reminder, earlier it was reported that the health condition of Chechnya's ruler Ramzan Kadyrov was deteriorating, so he activated the process of transferring power.
Kadyrov has been the head of Chechnya since 2007, the longest term among the incumbent regional leaders. He was last re-elected to the post in 2021. According to the Central Election Commission, his result was 99.7% of the vote, with a turnout of 94.42%. Kadyrov's current term of office expires in 2026.
