The Chechen dictator is asking to be fired.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is set to hold a meeting with Chechnya's head Ramzan Kadyrov on Wednesday, May 7, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said, according to Russian propaganda agency Interfax.
Peskov said Kadyrov will take part in extended international meetings with some foreign delegations that will arrive in Moscow to participate in the May 9 parade.
On May 6, Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov said he had asked Putin to fire him from his post. According to rossMedia, Kadyrov had already made similar statements in 2022, 2017 and 2016. Then his initiatives were not supported.
Before that, Novaya Gazeta Europe wrote that Kadyrov was preparing a change of power in Chechnya and appointed his minor son Adam as his successor.
In 2024, the publication reported that Kadyrov had been suffering for more than five years from a disease with a mortality rate of up to 80% - pancreatic necrosis. Journalists believe his disease is progressing. Although Kadyrov is trying to hide his deteriorating condition with increased media activity, in recent months he has increasingly disappeared from the public space for long periods of time.
