The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has lifted sanctions on athletes from Belarus and Russia and allowed them to participate in team competitions under its auspices.

But the athletes must have a neutral status, notes the press service of the Federation. They can perform under the FIE flag already this year.

In 2023, the International Fencing Federation banned all Belarusian and Russian athletes and officials. The membership of the Belarusian and Russian fencing federations in the FIE was suspended.
