Tomasz Kopecky prepared well for his meeting with Zielenski.
Czech government commissioner for Ukraine's reconstruction Tomas Kopechny wore socks with an image of the burning Kremlin to a meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky during his visit to the Czech Republic. Russia was outraged, calling Kopechny "sick," TN.cz wrote on Thursday, May 8.
The socks, which depicted a fire in Moscow's Kremlin, are symbolic in the fourth year of the war, Kopechny said.
"The Russians are flooding Ukrainian cities with missiles and killing innocent people. They are not embarrassed by this spectacle. But Ukrainian socks that symbolically depict what it would look like if the same thing happened in their cities have angered them. I would like them to show the same sensitivity towards the cities where they are the cause of this," the Czech official said.
At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Russian Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, Andrey Klimov, reacted hysterically to the photo circulated on the Web, lashing out at Kopechny with insults.
