In Kiev, as a result of a massive attack by the aggressor country Russia on the night of Tuesday, June 10, a monument of national importance - St. Sophia Cathedral - was damaged.

This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Nikolai Tochitsky in "Facebook".

"This night the enemy again struck at the very heart of our identity. The Cathedral of St. Sophia in Kiev, a shrine that has survived the centuries and symbolizes the birth of our statehood, has been damaged. This 11th century temple is the soul of the whole Ukraine," he said.

He said the blast wave caused the destruction of the cornice on the main apse of the monument of national importance.
