Drones Attacked Kotovsky Gunpowder Plant In Russia's Tambov Region

Toward the morning of June 11, a series of explosions went off in the Russian town of Kotovsk in the Tambov region, with locals reporting at least 15 loud "pops" and an attack on a gunpowder factory. The factory produces in particular products for small arms, artillery systems, grenade launchers and other weapons of the Russian Armed Forces, reports Focus.
An attack on a company that supplies gunpowder for Russian weapons was reported by local Telegram channel Mash.
Mash informed about the shelling of the Kotovsk gunpowder plant at around 04:00 hours.
"UAVs are attacking the Tambov gunpowder plant. Residents of the town of Kotovsk heard at least 15 sounds of explosions in the sky. According to them, air defense systems are working on the targets. Drones continue to fly at the city," the report said.
The network also released footage of the attack on the gunpowder plant in Kotovsk.
The attack on the Kotovsk gunpowder plant was also reported by the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+.
Local authorities have not provided comment on the drone attack.
The Kotovsky Powder Plant in the Tambov region is considered one of Russia's largest enterprises, where ammunition and gunpowder for small arms of the Russian Armed Forces are made. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the enterprise has increased production by one-third. The enterprise is part of the Rostec state corporation circuit and provides supplies to the Russian Defense Ministry and other customers.
The Kotovsky Powder Plant produces smokeless pyroxylin powders for:
firearms;
artillery systems;
grenade launchers;
mortar ammunition;
mortar ammunition;
tank rounds.
In addition, the Kotovsky Powder Plant produces powder charges for ammunition of various calibers.
