What happened?
Due to thunderstorms in Belarus on June 11, electricity may be cut off, warned the MES. In addition, sirens may be heard in Minsk voblast until lunchtime.
Thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 11, in some places across the country. Wind southeast 5-10 m/s, with thunderstorms gusts up to 14 m/s.
"Danger factors: damage (breakage) of communication and power lines, disconnection of electrical substations, electricity in settlements, forest fires, as well as fires in residential and industrial buildings," recalled the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The Ministry also reported that in Minsk region from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. there would be a scheduled technical check of the public warning system. People are asked to stay calm and do nothing.
